Musical Easter Program Suggestions

I would like to suggest some songs for you to consider and show you how to put them together for a full Easter service. The best way to choose songs for a full program is to use songs with a variety of styles that include solos, trios, and large group songs. So let’s look at songs from each genre that include a variety of singers. We’ll even include a few songs for the congregation to join in on and some songs for the children.

He’s Alive by Don Francisco – a great song to start an Easter service. This tells the story from beginning to end. It can be done as a solo then all the singers sing full harmony on the chorus – “He’s Alive.”

Jesus Messiah by Chris Tomlin – this praise and worship song is a perfect song for the congregation to join in.

Redeemer by Daywind Kidz and I’m A Believer by Daywind Kidz . Let’s get the kids involved! These songs are great options for the children’s choir. You can break the songs up with some short solos then let the choir sing truth to the congregation. There’s nothing like children lifting up their voices in praise.

O The Blood by Selah – This is a contemporary praise and worship song recorded by a southern gospel trio – a perfect trio song. This particular track has a variety of key and background options.

I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary by Gaither Vocal Band – a southern gospel song that a group of men can shine on. The harmonies are tight. Do it as a trio, quartet or even a men’s choir.

Ten Thousand Angels by Traditional – get the congregation to join in on this one also.

You Paid It All by Wess Morgan – a gospel solo song (male or female)

Forever by Kari Jobe – I love this contemporary song. The lyrics and the music are powerful! I suggest breaking the verses up into solos and then all join in on the chorus.

How Can It Be by Lauren Daigle – a contemporary version of a classic. A female solo that isn’t difficult.

Then Came The Morning by Gaither Homecoming – southern gospel trio or quartet

Lead Me To The Cross by Hillsong – this praise and worship song could be done as a female solo or as a worship team led song for the congregation to join in on.

You Reign by William Murphy – another great gospel solo

The King Is Coming by Bill and Gloria Gaither – I suggest that all the singers sing this one out in full harmony!

Revelation Song by Gateway Church -End your service with this one! Include all the singers, including children. Do solos on the verses and harmonies on the chorus. Invite the congregation to join in and worship the Lord together!
